MLC Builders wanted a simple look for their full color brochure, so the only place we utilized full color was in the photographs of his
projects. By tiling these photos across the upper 1/3 of the brochure, the appearance of full color dominated the design enough to accent the use the full color without over doing it. The only other color used on the
brochure was a deep blue on the headings on each page and the phone number. The copy/text remained the simple black type on a white background. What really made the photos pop out for this brochure was the natural matte
finish paper we used. Slightly more than 70" gloss text weight, 70# natural matte finish has a nice touch and feel which is exactly what this high end builder was after.
MLC's logo is actually black and
white and remained that way even thought we had the ability to use full color. As the owner Mike Cyr commented, "I'm just a black and white sort of guy!" I enjoyed doing this brochure because the owner
believes in quality and wanted his printed piece to reflect the same.
